Core bookkeeping

Catch-up bookkeeping

Historical months brought up to date from source statements and documents, after the outstanding period is identified.

Who it suits

Businesses that have fallen behind and can supply statements and source documents for the missing months.

The problem it addresses

A monthly package price does not describe the work in a file that is months or years behind.

Included

  • A quoted range of months
  • Coding and reconciliation for those months
  • A list of records that are still missing

Excluded

  • An unlimited history
  • Invented transactions where source records do not exist
  • Lodgement of past activity statements

What you need to supply

  • The months that are outstanding
  • Bank statements
  • Invoices, bills and payroll reports where relevant
  • The current reconciliation status

How it is delivered

Months are processed in order. Gaps stay open. The quote can be revised if the file is in worse condition than described.

Pricing

One-off quote based on months, volume and file condition. Not included in the monthly packages.

One-off, staged if the backlog is long. The stages and amounts are shown before you accept.

Turnaround and dependencies

Set in the quote. A large backlog is not promised for the same turnaround as a current month.

  • Source statements
  • Agreement on the first and last month

When a person needs to assess the file

Always required before a price is accepted.

Professional limits

Catch-up reconstructs records from sources. It is not an audit and it does not amend lodged returns.

How to purchase

Use the catch-up enquiry or the plan builder. You will be asked which periods are outstanding before a price is confirmed.

Questions

Can you start the monthly service before catch-up finishes?

Sometimes, if the opening position is clear enough. That decision is made explicitly and does not hide the unfinished months.
