Core bookkeeping

Bank and credit-card reconciliation

Matching accounting records to bank and credit-card statements and leaving unmatched items visible.

Who it suits

Businesses that need included accounts reconciled to source statements for a defined period.

The problem it addresses

Unreconciled accounts hide duplicates, missing deposits and payments that have not been coded.

Included

  • Reconciliation of the accounts named in the engagement
  • A list of unmatched items
  • A recorded difference, including a zero difference

Excluded

  • Personal accounts unless they are expressly in scope
  • A completed period while a difference remains
  • Recreation of missing statement lines

What you need to supply

  • Statements or a working bank feed
  • Explanations for unmatched items

How it is delivered

Each account and period has a status. The period cannot be completed while a statement is missing or the difference is not zero.

Pricing

Included in the bookkeeping packages up to the account limit, or quoted for a one-off reconciliation.

Covered by the recurring fee when inside the account limit. Extra accounts are quoted before they are added.

Turnaround and dependencies

After the statement for the period is available.

  • Statement or feed
  • Prior period reconciliation status

When a person needs to assess the file

Required for accounts that have never been reconciled, or for differences that cannot be explained from the records.

Professional limits

Reconciliation checks the file against the statement. It does not certify a bank balance to a third party.

How to purchase

Include it in a package or request a one-off reconciliation through the enquiry form.

Questions

What if the feed does not match the statement?

The statement is the source used to finish the period. Feed errors are queried, not forced to balance.
